For Friday, September 9, 2022
1. Are You Ready to Pledge to Take Action for the Midterms?
Now is the perfect time to get involved as we head into the final months before the November midterms. Remember, California mail-in ballots will begin to arrive in *October*. So there is no time to waste.
#TakethePledge: Redlands Dems will be sharing a calendar of candidate events and other volunteer opportunities. Share your volunteering at: [email protected]
- before the September 17, 2022 at 11 am general meeting or place that info in the chat at the start of the meeting (we will draw three winners from a hat for some fun prizes) and
- before the October 15, 2022 at 11 am general meeting or place them in the chat at the start of the meeting (we will draw another three winners from a hat for more fun prizes).
We encourage you to volunteer for at least *2* activities a month, be it phone banking, canvassing, text banking, sending postcards, attending and taking action at a Solidarity Sundays-Redlands meeting, etc., for just a few examples.

- Advocating for a vibrant downtown Redlands with a re-use of the site of the current derelict Redlands Mall: The Planning Commission and the City Council held a joint meeting on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Lasting over 5 hours, the result was a unanimous vote by the City Council in favor of the developers’ design for the Redlands Mall project. This is an important step forward in building a sustainable and resilient downtown Redlands for the future.
The City Council has approved the revised ballot measure for the November 2022 election which will allow the University of Redlands transit village plan to go forward (Measure F). The competing ballot measure has been withdrawn. More news and details to come as the ballot is finalized.
